Help for the Brown Family

There have been many stories in the news lately about the severe impact of the heavy rain and flooding that we have had this summer in the region.  Within our own school community, we have a family who has personally experienced the devastating effects of the flooding.  John Brown and his children, Grace (Grade 6) and Wyatt (Grade 4), have been displaced from their basement apartment in Keene because of very heavy flooding that has caused significant water damage and mold.  As they struggle to find new housing, the family has been living in local hotels for the past several weeks, which has been extremely costly ($150+ per night).  John is an integral member of Keene's small business community.  Many of you may know him.  He is doing all that he can to maintain his local business, Keene Barber, while also trying to maintain a stable environment for his children.  But their home, clothing, and personal items have been completely destroyed.

The Brown family needs our help.  Our hope is that our school communities can come together with monetary donations that will at least be a start to getting them back on their feet.  Please consider helping.  Your contribution of any amount will make a huge difference for John, Grace, and Wyatt.

We will be collecting donations between August 11-19.  After that time period, one check for a total of all contributions will be given directly to John Brown from the SJRS/OLMA community.

You may contribute online via credit card below.  Cash or checks (payable to SJRS) may be dropped off to the school offices (Tues-Wed-Thurs 10am-2pm) through August 19.

THANK YOU!
