Elementary French is scheduled with the Preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade once a week and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades twice a week.

French at Saint Joseph’s Middle School is an intensive four-year course that begins in middle school and meets daily.  Fifth and sixth grade students learn the language through action, activities, games, and storytelling.  Seventh and eighth grade students engage in a rigorous two-year academic French 1 program that prepares them for French 2 in high school; they also participate in the National French Contest, put on each spring by the American Association of Teachers of French (a contest in which St. Joseph students have medalled for the past two years).
