Preschool/Early Childhood

Ensuring a safe, faithful, caring, playful environment for Preschool students
Our Preschool early childhood curriculum is focused on learning through play, allowing students to build relationships and understand God’s love. Teachers support all students as they learn the fundamental social, physical, emotional, and cognitive skills needed as they develop. Movement and outdoor time is incorporated into every school day, allowing students to explore and discover the classroom as well as our beautiful campus. All students in all grades attend weekly Mass at St. Bernard's Church. Preschool students are accompanied by their "church buddies," who are SJRS Middle School students who assist with the younger students during Mass.
We focus on a joyful learning experience for all students. Through ample imaginative blocks of "free-play" and engaging structured "circle times," we actively promote making positive choices, and help each student to build their self-confidence. Nature science, sights and sounds of the alphabet, community helpers, good nutrition, prayer, rhyming, mathematics, and creativity are all a part of the Preschool year.

SJRS Preschoolers participate in Art, Physical Education, Library, and Music on a weekly basis.
