Physical Education and Health

During Physical Education and Health, our goal is to teach students that being active and healthy can be fun. Physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle need to be everyday priorities. Evidence based research strongly supports improved student academic outcomes when physical education, health, and wellness strategies are utilized in the school setting. Each promotes the development of confidence, dignity and respect for self and others.

Younger elementary students will be focusing on body awareness and basic loco-motor and manipulative skills.  Older elementary students will begin to work on cooperative games as well as competitive games. This is a good way for students to work together.

Middle school students will continue to learn team sports and work on their cooperation.  Along with this, middle school students will be learning about their personal fitness. By offering a variety of skills and activities, students will be able to use what they learn outside of school.
